Melissa Hemsley is a passionate advocate for easy and affordable healthy food that can be enjoyed by everyone. She initially started her career as a private chef for famous actors and bands, including Take That. Throughout her journey, she has written and co-written four highly successful books that have been published internationally: The Art of Eating Well, Good+Simple, Eat Happy, and Eat Green.
In Autumn 2019, Melissa launched the Sustainability Sessions, a series of ongoing community panel discussions featuring experts such as Anita Rani, Grace Dent, Skye Gyngell, Bryony Gordon, June Sarpong MBE, Matt Haig, and Fearne Cotton. These sessions covered various topics, including farming, travel, plastic pollution, mental health, fast fashion, green beauty, and slow living. The aim was to connect, empower, and motivate our offline communities to make meaningful and sustainable changes in their daily lives.
Melissa is also a dedicated supporter of The Felix Project, a charity that reduces food waste. She regularly volunteers with them to rescue surplus food and cook for children and vulnerable individuals. Additionally, she serves as an ambassador for Mental Health Mates, the Fairtrade Foundation, and Women Supporting Women (The Princes Trust), among many others.
