Jamie Windust is an award-winning LGBTQ+ writer, author and broadcaster. As a former Contributing Editor at GAY TIMES and editor-in-chief of FRUITCAKE Magazine, Jamie has spent the past nine years carving out their unique space within the UK Media. After being crowned the 2018 ASOS Future Talent in Communications winner at London Graduate Fashion Week, they have continued sharing LGBTQ+ stories with a unique flare and creativity.
Having written for publications such as The Independent, Cosmopolitan, ELLE UK, Metro UK, and Hunger Magazine, they specialise in sharing educational work on their experiences as non-binary and their specialist interests within culture, TV, film, and theatre. In 2020, their debut book, In Their Shoes: Navigating Non-Binary Life, was published, having sold over 10,000 copies worldwide.
In 2019, they delivered a ground-breaking talk to a sold-out crowd at London's Royal Festival Hall as part of TEDxLondon, moving the audience with their call for LGBTQ+ allyship. They were also invited to debate at the historic Oxford University in 2022 as part of the Oxford Union's debating society, with former speakers including Nancy Pelosi, Stephen Hawking, and Ian McKellen, kicking off the university's bicentenary celebrations.
