Charlie Hoare is a well-being consultant, entrepreneur, life coach, and speaker on male mental health. Most importantly, he is a father. His personal experience with depression and anxiety inspired him to write 'MAN DOWN: A Guide for Men on Mental Health'.
Charlie has a diverse background, having worked for Innocent Drinks, Air Asia, and various start-ups in London, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. He co-founded TÅPPED birch water. Interestingly, he cycled 10,000 miles from Malaysia back home (perhaps ironically for mental health charity SANE!).
Charlie holds an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology. His ultimate goal is to help men feel comfortable opening up about their mental health.
In this session, led by Charlie Hoare, a male mental health campaigner and certified coach, we aim to tackle the taboo of men suffering in silence and make it our mission to get more men talking about mental health. In this session, we will discuss: - The dichotomy of appearing ‘successful’, ‘strong’ and ‘sorted’, whilst suffering from insecurities, anxieties and mental health illnesses. - The ‘male’ Experience of common mental health illnesses. - Tools And tips to promote and improve good mental health amongst men. - Ways To create an open and supportive community amongst your male peers. - Charlie Will also share his own story
